The Runner is a theatre project created by Human Cargo in collaboration with Nephesh Theatre in Tel Aviv.
Based on a real-life member of Z.A.K.A, an Orthodox Jewish volunteer force in Israel that collects the remains of Jews killed in accidents, it explores how this calling affects his daily life, religious beliefs and perception of death.
Written by Christopher Morris and directed/dramaturged by Canadian director Daniel Brooks, The Runner will premiere in Toronto in 2018, and tour to Tel Aviv. It will be presented in English and Hebrew (with Hebrew and English surtitles) with Canadian and Israeli actors.
